Rio Climate Action Week

23-29 August 2025

Student voices: Global stories of climate action and hope

Hosted by Cambridge International Education, our student voices panel at Rio Climate Action Week is a facilitated ‘structured conversation’ between our International Climate Change Ambassador, Richard Gilby and three students, one from Brazil one from Argentina and one from South Africa, providing a diversity of perspectives and experiences.

The 40 minute session will be broadcast live via Zoom webinar. Sign up for free online tickets here: https://events.zoom.us/ev/Ah_NJ6MHiovOhz7pxPYlfHQsBgZB65aWZSehyoE-r7bDxzQJqV3Q~AnkapyhEK3OCZzT_Divvu3ia5sQfYJu7EHsg3Ghbcxnf2qOABNqx530AkA

Our inspiring student panellists are from Cambridge International Schools who are creating or leading initiatives to tackle the climate crisis. The conversation will focus on four areas:

  • What life is like in their country and what motivates their interest in the climate crisis
  • What their project is, how they came up with it and the difference it is making
  • What is inspiring them about what they are hearing from their fellow learners on the panel and what is similar or different about their experiences
  • How their current education is preparing them to address climate change.

This stimulating and hopeful conversation will explore how empowering young people with critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills can lead to innovative, local solutions in the fight against climate change.

There will be time at the end of the conversation for Q&A.
